Identity
- Owl Driving School is a trading style of Tony Benton.
- Tony Benton is a fully qualified, DSA registered, Approved Driving Instructor (Cars).

General
- Your instructor recognises that your are an individual and, as such, you learn at your own rate and in your own way. Your instructor will therefore provide a tailored course of lessons necessary to meet your requirements and abilities.
- Your instructor agrees to abide by the Driving Standards Agency's voluntary Code of Practice.
- The training car will be kept in a roadworthy, safe and legal condition.
- You must notify your instructor of anything which may affect your ability or entitlement to drive a car. e.g. loss of licence, disability, injury, etc.
Lessons
- Your instructor will display an official DSA identification badge ('green badge') during your lessons.
- All lessons will last a minimum of one hour.
- You agree to pay for each lesson either in advance or at the beginning or the lesson.
- All lessons will be conducted on a one to one basis. Other people will not be allowed in the car during a lesson without your prior knowledge and consent.
- Your instructor will aim to be on time for all lessons. If this is not possible, due to traffic conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, your instructor with attempt to contact you. Any lost training time will be added on to a current or future lesson.
- If at the beginning of a lesson there is no reply at your designated pick-up point, your instructor will wait for 10 minutes. If after 10 minutes contact has still not been made then the lesson will be abandoned and you will be required to pay for the lesson.
- You agree to act in a responsible and appropriate manner. If, during a lesson, you act in an irresponsible or inappropriate manner your instructor may terminate the lesson, and may refuse to conduct any future lessons.
- If your instructor considers you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs (legal or otherwise) during a lesson, then the lesson will be terminated immediately.
Cancellation
- If, due to unforeseen circumstances, your instructor finds it necessary to cancel your lesson, they will make every effort to give 24 hours notice. However, in some circumstances, such as illness or vehicle breakdown, you are asked to recognise that this is not always possible.
- You must give at least 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel a lesson booking, failure to do this may result in you being charged for the lesson as if it had taken place.
Driving Tests
- You are responsible for the payment of all test fees to the Driving Standards Agency.
- Your instructor reserves the right to refuse to allow you the use of the training vehicle for the practical test if in their opinion you are not at the required standard.
- You agree to discuss the booking of your practical test with your instructor. Failure to do this may result in the unavailability of the training car for the test.
- Before the practical test you and your instructor will check all bulbs on the training vehicle. If a bulb fails during the test your instructor will use their best efforts to replace the bulb. In the event that this isn't possible and the test is cancelled your instructor will not be held liable for any test fees lost.
Complaints
- You will have an informal discussion with your instructor.
- Failing settlement of the dispute, you should put the complaint in writing within 30 day of the incident.
- Your instructor will respond in writing within 14 days.
- If you are still not satisfied with the outcome you may wish to contact the DSA's Registrar of Approved Driving Instructors.
Legal
- Nothing in these terms and conditions will affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
- These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
